Account details (email address), the profile you create (name, instruments, genres, skill level, bio, city or approximate location), audio clips you record or upload, the bands and openings you post, and the direct messages you send to other users.
To show your profile and openings to other musicians, to let people contact you, and to keep the service working. We do not sell your data or run ad targeting on it.
Your profile, clips, instruments, skill level and posted openings are visible to anyone browsing Backline. Your email address is not shown publicly. Location is shown only at neighborhood or city level.
Direct messages are stored so conversations persist between sessions. They are visible to you and the person you are messaging. They are not end-to-end encrypted, and we may review a thread if it is reported for abuse.
We use third-party infrastructure for hosting, authentication, database and file storage. Those providers process data on our behalf under their own security terms.
You can edit or remove your profile details and clips at any time from your profile page. To delete your account and associated data, contact us and we will remove it.
Questions about privacy? Reach out through the contact address listed on the site. This is a placeholder policy for an early-stage product and will be updated as the service grows.
